Wow! We ask the wrong questions all the time, but I guess recognition is the first step to repentance.

When I first became self employed, I asked, “How can I get more repeat customers?” Later, I realized that small repeat customers were not very profitable for me. Now I ask, “How can I get new, big customers?” I also used to ask, “How can I diet?” but now I ask, “How can I exercise?” and I am much healthier for it.

The real key is to KEEP asking questions. Too many business people are complacent. Technology changes the game almost every day, but how often do we change ourselves? Or maybe the better questions is, “What can we learn today?”

Fantabulous post! I just signed up for Seth Godin’s posts via email based on something you twittered this morning. You are going to want to slap me “upside the head,” but I have NO idea who Seth Godin is, why he’s so groovy or why he’s so popular. But, based on your twitter, I thought I’d check him out. Obviously, I’m a bit new to the revolution. Anyhoo – thank you for this insightful post, which doubles as a lovely piece of writing. Not that you need my encouragement, but keep it up! I just added this blog to my blogroll. In three words: you rock, girl!

…and don’t you just *love* the way Seth says things. Talk about having your act together… I’m a presentation skills trainer and all I can say is that not only is it true that more people want it than have it but *thank heavens* for that, otherwise I’d have no one to sell to!

As it is, however, I’m selling training: I’m toying with the marketing logo “talk like Seth”!
